WHY I CHOOSE YOUNG LIVING 3

This post is contributed by One Drop member – Marissa Loh.

Thanks for joining me again! Now you know that I started with Young Living due to Wellness, and how it has enabled me find and live my life Purpose. Now, here’s what makes it is a sustainable reason to stay with Young Living.

Abundance

I understand some of you may be wary of Young Living because it is a Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) company and there are usually some negative vibes about that. However, I hope you have realised by now that Young Living, and the people aligned with it (such as the One Drop group), has a very different business model that is not merely focused on sales or profits, but is centred on the heart and passion to make the world a better place through wellness, purpose and abundance.

Having an MLM or network marketing structure is just Young Living’s chosen distribution model, which is actually crucial to the proper education and guidance that is required in supporting members throughout their natural wellness journey. In fact, the MLM structure and well thought out compensation plan has empowered many Young Living leaders to escape their previous life of poverty and build a sustainable and rewarding business for themselves and their families! If you take a moment to look at all the leaders in Young Living around the world, you will notice a striking similarity – most, if not all, are like-minded in their passion to serve others, while being joyfully fulfilled and flourishing with abundance in all aspects of their lives. This is an awesome business to be in!

Indeed, thanks to the virtuous circle of sharing among friends and being blessed with many awesome leaders in my team, I have been able to quit my job and build my own little business with Young Living. I am filled with gratitude for having a very fulfilling “job” that allows me to bless others and be blessed while having the flexibility to spend quality time with my family. Being a business owner (I love the sound of this!), living a life of purpose with passion, and overflowing with abundance – it is a dream come true!
Network marketing is really the easiest and most rewarding way to be an entrepreneur. Robert Kiyosaki (entrepreneur and author) says,

“Network marketing gives people the opportunity, with very low risk and very low financial commitment, to build their own income-generating asset and acquire great wealth.”
And he also said this, which I totally agree with:

“If you are a person with big dreams and would love to support others in achieving their big dreams, then the network marketing business is definitely a business for you. You can start your business part-time at first and then as your business grows, you can help other people start their part-time business. This is a value worth having – a business and people who help others make their dreams come true.”
How awesome!

Besides the financial benefits, as a leader in Young Living, I’m also challenged to work on personal growth and leadership development. Building up, coaching and resolving conflicts among people can be testing at times but really stretches me beyond my comfort zone and empowers me to grow as a person. What I love is how we succeed when our team succeeds. It’s really a very rewarding win-win opportunity to grow together to achieve abundance for all. Abundance not just in wealth but also in health, love, joy, peace and whatever your heart desires.

There it is, my reasons for choosing Young Living can be summed up in 3 words – Wellness, Purpose and Abundance. 3 simple words with such profound meaning. Now how about you? Would you also want Wellness, Purpose and Abundance in your life?

MY FAVOURITE CHOICES FOR RESPIRATORY SUPPORT

This post is contributed by One Drop member – Deny Sentosa.

I have wanted to write about this for a long time. It’s about respiratory support. I believe many of us are sometimes faced with helpless situation when our loved ones keep coughing or having phlegm in the chest or runny nose. With so many choices of Young Living products out there, which are the best ones?

My answer is every individual is different. One may work for others, may not work for you. What I can offer is based on my experience on using oils on myself and my family. So far, these products, combined with products for DIGESTIVE health work well (I will cover on digestive health next time). So, here are my choices:

1. Frankincense.

Obviously, you have heard me raving about Frankincense before. Here’s the link if you want to know more about this oil.

2. Copaiba.

This is gentle oil and I would use it on 3 mths old baby. However, since Copaiba is found to be under legumes family, those with G6PD deficiency shd take precaution when using this oil. This oil is the amplifier. Meaning, it can amplify the functions of the previous oils. Besides this, Copaiba is great for scratchy throat (you will have this when you shout for whole day). Copaiba is also great to calm irritation on the skin. It supports muscles and bones, reduces discomfort due to physical exercises, supports digestive health and also emotionally grounding.

3. Balsam Fir (Idaho).

This oil comes from big tree and thus it’s great for respiratory and muscle support. The smell is grounding and calming. It strengthens me emotionally. When you combine #1 to #3 with equal amounts, you will get great combination which is better than Pana*ol.

4. Goldenrod.

Not many know that Goldenrod is great as respiratory support. My friend shared that she uses this to support healthy tonsils on her girl. When my husband has discomfort on his throat due to eating “heaty” food, he will ask for this oil and inhales deeply for 6-8x from his palms (he drops 1-2 drops, rubs, and inhales). The molecules work by soothing his throat and he feels better afterwards. Goldenrod is also liver and kidney support as well as its namesake “golden+rod” for men.

5. Peace and Calming

I use this to calm continuous cough on my girl. as its name suggests, this oil calms the muscles spasm caused by constant coughing. The smell is very soothing and calming. My girl even remarks that it’s fragrant and she likes it. This oil is also great for digestive support and I will use it on her stomach and chest together.

There are 3 more products that I have used and they are proven to be as great.

6. Myrtle

It’s great thyroid, muscles, and respiratory support.

I use it 1 drop with 10-20 cents size shampoo on my palm on my girl to let the mucus comes out. I love her smell after showering 🙂

7. OrthoEase

My friend shared that she layered this on her girl’s chest and back for respiratory support. Her girl had been coughing quite badly. This method let her girl to sleep well at night.

It’s no wonder because inside this blend, there are respiratory oils as well as vetiver to calm nerves.

8. Cool Azul

I have shared about this here.

Here you go, my favorite YL products. Take note however, my list can change anytime according to what body needs in the future 🙂 The interesting thing with YL is what to use is not fixed. But once you get the hang of it, you will know what to use.

WINTER TIPS

This post is contributed by One Drop members – Norce Putri with contributions from Jessie Neo, Grace Khuah and Ranna Seah

I have always been a tropical girl, born and raised in a country blessed with constant sunny days. Not surprisingly, I have low tolerance towards cold. But I did not hesitate when the opportunity presented itself to participate in Winter Harvest at Fort Nelson in Canada. Even with its harsh winter where the temperature can be as low as -35 Celcius during the day; I jumped at the chance to join 14 other OneDroppers.

But to battle the cold, we have to be very prepared. So for this trip, other than 5 layers of clothes, socks, gloves, hat, heat packs, etc; I prepared some oils & supplements to keep me warm & strong despite of the extreme climate change.

Below is what I use and also plus some other tips from our fellow harvesters:

NORCE – Me

Oils:
  • Lemongrass + Eucalyptus Blue, layered on soles, morning (before going out) and night.
  • Light The Fire, on soles, before or after Lemongrass + Eucalyptus Blue.
  • En-R-Gee, 3-4 drops on palm, rub and press against adrenal area.
  • Copaiba for chilled fingers
I only use these 4 oils and it really kept me warm thru the whole trip. I use the oils neat, adjust with your own preference & comfort level. At one point, my fingertips were a bit swollen and painful due to the extreme cold. Kai suggested to use Copaiba and the discomforts was managed quite immediately, so I kept using it through out the trip.

Supplements:
  • Inner Defense, twice a day. Use more as needed.
  • Longevity, twice a day. Use more as needed.
  • Ningxia Red, I only take 60ml per day. Sometimes I forgot 😛.
  • Digest and Cleanse, once a day when I remember to.
I also brought along a box of Ningxia Nitro but didn’t take it as much as I did at home. The cold weather made me happy and alert.

Skin care:
  • Lavender Body Lotion on my body twice a day before going out and after nighttime shower. Because of ZERO humidity there, the lotion was absorbed very fast. I was worried if I would get cold rash, but fortunately that didn’t happened.
  • Alot of Boswellia Wrinkle Cream for face and neck, morning and night, re-apply as necessary. *The cream sponsored by Dana Neo 😝.
  • Lastly, the Young Living Lipbalm is a must!

JESSIE NEO

Oils:
  • Thieves on sole, day and night before wearing socks.
  • En-R-Gee on sole in the day before wearing socks.
  • Idaho Balsam Fir on chest at night to open up airways.
Supplements:
  • Ningxia red
  • Ningxia Nitro
Both are a must in the morning.

Skincare:
  • Frankincense & Cedarwood on face
  • Lots of Bowellia Wrinkle Cream and Sheerlume

GRACE KHUAH

Oils:
  • Thieves
  • Clove
  • Ginger
  • Light The Fire
Layer on feet & tummy.

Supplements:
  • Ningxia Red
  • Inner Defense
Skincare:
  • Regenelone
  • Sheerlume
  • Wolfberry Eye Cream
  • Boswellia Wrinkle Cream
  • Myrrh
  • Geranium
  • Carrot Seed
  • Sandalwood Moisture Cream
My skin is very dry. I use Regenolene for body, for the face I used Sheerlume, Wolfberry Eye cream and Bowellia Wrinkle cream plus Myrrh, Geranium and Carrot Seed. I have wind burn after playing snow mobile. Was painful and numb so I added lavender and Ranna offered me Sandalwood Moisture cream. Next day it was ok 😊 Otherwise Sarah (our host there) said I will be experiencing sunburn 😊 The skin on my nose was dry too. I apply Young Living lip balm whenever I needed extra moisturising and it worked as well!

RANNA SEAH

Oils:
  • Journey On – very haolian about this as its a special edition blend created for World Peace Caravan
  • Dorado Azul – apply direct on chest as I have a prolonged cough and this really helped strengthened my lungs
  • Thieves – under tongue for immune support
  • Ginger on tailbone for warmth
  • Geranium – this oil kept me warm very very well too and I will apply on my face, tailbone and inner thigh
  • Carrot Seed and Myrrh on Face (I went neat) against tanning by the sun rays reflected by the snow
Supplements:
  • ImmuPro – for immune support and sleep but I forsake it when we have to standby at night for Northern Lights
  • BLM – this is a must for me aching joints from the harvesting, pulling and lifting of luggage
  • Ningxia red – 60ml per day, I went up to 120ml per day sometimes and it really helped my bowel movement and also allowed me to wear my contact lens without discomfort
Skincare:
  • ART Toner – I never feel comfortable putting anything on my face without toning
  • Boswellia Wrinkle Cream on face and neck and body if I forgot my Sandalwood moisture cream
  • Sandalwood Moisture Cream for body
  • YL Lipbalm

FEELINGS KIT

This post is contributed by One Drop member – Ranna Seah.

I begin my oily journey with Young Living back in 2014 when my daughter was already 4 years old. After we started oiling, I find that the quality of my sleep returned to back when I was a teenager. I was able to sleep so soundly…especially since my then 4 years old…stopped waking in the middle of the night with fever or stuffy nose. YIPPPEEE!!!

Alright~ So I was feeling so much more energized and so much more younger! Something stirred in me and I find myself being drawn to our collection named “Feelings Kit”.

So I did some research on it and I saw this promise by Gary Young (founder of Young Living). Gary said, “Use the Feelings Kit. Apply feeling oils before work and every night before bed. Do this for 30 days and you will change your life.”

Wow! How will it change my life? How do I know I need to get out the kit? I realised that I have very bad tendency to procrastinate since I was young. I even so nearly jeopardised my chance at a scholarship to Japan to study art. I was given about 1 month to work on a new portfolio but I procrastinated and didn’t produce anything until the interview was on the next day!!! CLOSE SHAVE! It is God’s miracle that I managed to churn out 15 sketches that night. I still didn’t get the scholarship eventually but it could have much much been worse if I have had no portfolio to show for my interview. I could have ruined my entire career! This is a problem and it is very serious. I’ve tried to cope around it…but I know I need to change. This seems like a God-sent solution via Gary Young and Young Living. Maybe I could really get rid of this bad behaviour once and for all! I need to get on the kit!
There are only 6 oil blends in the Feelings Kit! And if you are curious how to use them, read on~

Feelings Kit Regime

Step 01: Valor oil blend is an empowering combination of spruce, rosewood, blue tansy, and frankincense essential oils. Renowned for its strengthening qualities and ability to align energy in the body. Apply Valor to the feet as the first step of the Cleansing of feelings.

Step 02: Harmony oil blend brings a harmonic balance to the energy centres of the body using lavender, sandalwood, and ylang ylang and other essential oils. Apply Harmony on the chakra points to allow negative energy to escape.

Step 03: Forgiveness oil blend is an uplifting combination formulated with melissa, geranium, frankincense, and other essential oils. Forgiveness allows the release of harmful memories and promotes a willingness to move forward. Apply Forgiveness to the navel and let go of negative emotions.

Step 04: Present Time oil blend promotes feelings of living in the moment. The blend of neroli, spruce, and other essential oils allow you to see the future with an open mind for new possibilities. Apply Present Time to the wrists and behind the ears.

Step 05: Release oil blend facilitates the ability to release anger and frustration using ylang ylang, lavandin, geranium, and other essential oils. Release promotes harmony and balance of the mind and body. Apply over the liver and wait as feelings of frustration are uplifted.

Step 06: Inner Child oil blend stimulates memory response and helps reconnect with the authentic self. The combination of orange, tangerine, jasmine, lemongrass, neroli, and other essential oils provide a sweet, childlike fragrance. Apply 1–2 drops of Inner Child just under your nose to open the pathway to connecting with your inner self.

Step 07: Lastly, re-apply Valor essential oil to complete the Cleansing of feelings. Valor locks in the feelings of completeness and balance.

6 oils and 7 steps…not so hard right?

I remembered while I was on the kit, I realised that I had a emotional detox around Day 21. The previous night I was tearing non-stop and feeling all emotional…while the next day, I was laughing non-stop at something not so funny said by my colleague. I was laughing so hard that my other colleagues were puzzled and wondering out loud…”Got so funny meh???”

Then I caught myself and realised I am having an emotional detox!!!

So did the kit worked for me? I think it sure did. For starters, I am clearer and more precise in working towards my goals. Secondly, I was able to communicate clearer and ask for help instead of thinking people will turn me down and stressing myself out with all the ‘what ifs’. My ‘maybe’ turned into ‘let’s give it a shot’! I was gaining more confidence and focus in my life. 🙂

SEASONAL NOSE TICKLES

This post is contributed by One Drop member – Kaye Ng.

Its almost Spring time and that means flowers and pollen and the occasional AHH CHOOS! Lets talk a quick one on what Allergens are and the essential oils that can help to support the body’s natural system during this period of time.

ALLERGENS

An allergen is a substance that tricks the immune system — making it think that the allergen is an invader. The immune system then overreacts to the allergen, which is really a harmless substance, and produces antibodies. These antibodies travel to cells that release histamine and other chemicals, causing the allergic reaction.

The most common causes of a reaction include:
  • Pollen
  • Dust
  • Mold
  • Insect stings
  • Animal dander
  • Food
  • Medications
  • Latex
These allergens will trigger symptoms in the nose, throat, lungs, ears, sinuses and lining of the stomach or on the skin. The body responds in a certain way to an allergen because the immune system is in overdrive. When the body is already dealing with high inflammation, any allergen sets off an increased reaction. That means that when the body’s immune system is overworked and stressed, introducing an allergen sends the body into overreaction.

If the immune system and inflammation within the body was balanced, the reaction to the allergen would be normal; however, today these reactions are exaggerated and lead to the next unneeded allergic reaction.

This is why it is extremely important to support our body’s immune system. A healthy body will reduce the bodies susceptibility to outside sources and reduce the overreaction of the immune system when it is faced with a harmless intruder.

OILS WHICH YOU CAN USE

So lets jump into 5 basic oils which you can use to help your body natural defense against these allergens.

  1. Lavender Essential Oil Lavender essential oil will not only ease your allergic reaction, it has a calming and relaxing effect on body and mind, and smells great. Topically – Add 1 drop of lavender essential oil to your cheeks, forehead, and sinuses as needed to soothe allergic reactions or headaches. Before bed, add a few drops to the soles of your feet.

  2. Peppermint Essential Oil Peppermint essential oil has a strong, fresh, and minty aroma that works wonders to treat allergic reactions, especially those that cause respiratory or digestive issues.

  3. Lemon oil supports lymphatic system drainage and helps with overcoming respiratory conditions. Lemon essential oil works best in combination with lavender and peppermint.

  4. Eucalyptus Essential Oils improves circulation and reduces symptoms of allergies. Eucalyptus oil produces a cold sensation in the nose that helps to improve airflow. It is one of the best oils for supporting the respiratory system and it can also ease seasonal allergies. Eucalyptus oil is most effective when applied topically or when used as a steam inhalation.

  5. Tea tree essential oil can help support skin reactions and is also very helpful to keep unpleasant bugs from destroying your outdoor time.
So these are basic oils that can help support ur body in the face of allergens. 🙂 Let us know if you have other oils that help you!
