ANCIENT WISDOM PART 1

ANCIENT WISDOM

Wellness with the 12 Scriptural Oils

This post is contributed by One Drop founder – Kai Tan

It is absolutely common to read hundreds of uses for just ONE essential oil. Have you ever raised your eyebrows and wondered suspiciously if someone was trying to “over-sell” the abilities of this liquid with some smell?

City dwellers like myself – raised with plasters, paracetamol and green cough syrups were pretty much educated in the way of A-Pill-for-A-Problem. Until we realized this. The problem keeps coming back. And it seems to be getting fiercer each time. Then a new pill jazzes into the pharmacies – claiming to be tougher, more intense but we don’t fully know what the side effects are. This crazy little cycle then keeps repeating itself.

And then we finally look outside of this unending maze of entrapment and are greeted by a very simple solution: God’s Love.

This Love manifests in the molecules of the very essences of plants He created. The efficacy of His medicine never gets outdated. It has a living wisdom that knows how to eradicate the invading viruses or dis-ease without hurting us or promoting a mutilation in the “enemy”. And the healing is always complete for mind, body and soul. I don’t think we will ever have the Science to match this. And I will be grateful that we don’t try. Ancient wisdom rocks for reasons.🙂

I’ll like to use the next 3 posts to delight in that very wisdom of the 12 Oils from the Ancient Scripture. These are the ones that were faithfully recorded in the bible; that were used as medicine, precious gifts, proclamation of love, anointing oils for prayers and blessings. Thousands of years later, these oils are absolutely still relevant and and have countless of uses to heal physically, emotionally and mentally.

It is also regarded as an oil of forgiveness. It can help us come to terms with the experiences of our life and to feel at peace with those who shared our journey with us. Gently apply on heart or base of feet.
  • Spikenard can also be inhaled or applied for emotionally doing a clean sweep and beginning again. It is not about repair of attitudes or relationships.

Lastly, here is a wonderful piece written in the Young Living Blog with regards to using the 12 Oils of the Ancient Scripture for healing from sexual abuse. While this may not have relevance to many, the information of how each oil can be applied for emotional clearing may offer valuable use in your pursuit for emotional wellness.

May you find great healing and joy as you discover and unveil for yourself the depth and richness of each of these oils.

BRAIN GYM & ESSENTIAL OILS

BRAIN GYM & ESSENTIAL OILS

The Synergy between Movement, Frequency and Smell

This post is contributed by One Drop member – Angela Lim Jie Yi

I started my oiling journey with Young Living in November 2013, researching and experimenting with essential oils mainly for my children. It was when I became a Brain Gym® Instructor in 2016 that I started exploring the possibilities of combining both modalities together.

So how does Brain Gym® and essential oils work together?

First, let me introduce to you what Brain Gym® is about. Brain Gym® was founded by Dr. Paul E. Dennison, Ph.D, in the 1980s. He was born with processing disorder and dyslexia and didn’t start to speak until he was 7 years old. At that time, he was deemed to be a “failure in life” because of his disabilities. Being a tough man, he wanted to show the world that he could make it in life despite his disabilities. He subsequently became a reading expert and opened many reading schools in USA. It was then that he met his wife, Gail, who is an artist and movement master. Together, they studied and researched on how movements have an effect on the brain. After 20 years of research, they came up with 26 basic movements which we refer them as the Learning Menu. These 26 movements are in line with our developmental milestones and address the different parts of the brain function. Brain Gym® has, over the years, evolved to include many other courses and many more movements! Carla Hannaford, Ph. D, also published a book, Smart Moves – Why Learning Is Not All In Your Head, documenting her research on how movement affects the brain.

So how do essential oils come into play?

In order to stimulate the brain, you can either inhale the oil or apply the oils. So when we inhale a fragrance of an essential oil, the odour molecules goes through the olfactory bulb, then transmits pulses to the gustatory centre (where the sensation of taste is), amygdala (where emotional memories are stored) and other parts of the limbic system of the brain. Because the limbic system is directly connected to those parts of the brain that control heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, memory, stress levels and hormone balance, essential oils can have profound physiological and psychological effects. The sense of smell is the only one of the five senses directly linked to the limbic lobe of the brain, the emotional control centre. Also, when you set a positive intention on what would you like to achieve when using the oil, the oil’s frequency interacts with your intention, and that increases your body’s frequency as well. So when we use the oils together the Brain Gym® movements, it creates a synergy between them.

Now, I would like to invite you to do some Brain Gym® with me and experience it for yourself!

In Brain Gym®, we have a 4 step process called P.A.C.E., which stands for Positive, Active, Clear and Energy. Now, close your eyes and feel your body and mind. How do you feel? What do you notice about your thoughts, feelings and your body?
Now we will go through the P.A.C.E. process.

The first step, “E”, stands for “Energy”. Sip some water and hold it in your mouth for a few seconds, then swallow it. Our brain is made up of more than 80% water so we need water to bring more information to the brain. By holding the water in your mouth before swallowing, it sends signals to the brain that water is coming. Do you remember a time when you feel thirsty? How do you feel? Were you able to think clearly? Though in Educational Kinesiology (the study of Brain Gym®), we encourage people to drink plain water, I understand that there are times when we don’t like the taste of plain water and even find it awful. In order to add a little flavour to the water, add a drop of Lemon Vitality into your water. How does it taste now? Once when you have gotten used to drinking water, switch to plain water instead.

The second step, “C”, stands for “Clear”. By massaging the Brain Buttons, which is slightly below the collarbone and feels sore when massaged, we clear the toxins that are in our body. To enhance this, apply the En-R-Gee blend on the kidneys and soles. Also, the Brain Buttons accesses the brain for stimulation of the carotid artery for increased blood flow to the brain, so I love to use oils like Clarity, Brainpower or Common Sense to wake up the brain. Use one drop of either one of the oils and apply on your brain stem (which is the indentation at the based of your skull), forehead and temples.

The third step, “A”, stands for “Active”. By doing cross crawl, where we bring one elbow to the opposite knee, we are crossing our body’s midline and access the brain for crossing the visual, auditory, kinaesthetic and tactile midline. With the remaining blends of Clarity, Brainpower or Common Sense in my palm, I love to inhale them deeply and then do my cross-crawl!

The final step, “P”, stands for “Positive”. By doing the hook ups, where we cross our legs and arms and fold in our arms, it accesses the brain for emotional centering and grounding and increased attention. Before doing the hook ups, I love to inhale oils like Sacred Mountain, Peace & Calming or Grounding. At this point, think of what you would like to achieve at the end of the day.

Now that the P.A.C.E. process is over, close your eyes and notice how you feel, think and how your body feels this time. Is there a difference as compared to before doing P.A.C.E.?

Brain Gym® can be done at anytime of the day and it is especially beneficial when it is done before the start of an assignment or activity.

Cheers to a positive life!

ESSENTIAL OILS FOR INTIMACY

ESSENTIAL OILS FOR INTIMACY

Which Essential Oils to Enhance Sexual Intimacy?

This post is contributed by One Drop member – Connie Chua

Sex is a beautiful gift that God has given to a couple under a marriage covenant and I believe it is not only sacred, it can be the most intimate and exhilarating moment that a couple can ever experience! However, having grown up in a conservative Asian culture where sex is hardly ever brought up for discussion, I sincerely feel that we should not feel embarrassed to talk about the sexual issues we face. How I wish that more people had been more open about it so my hubby and I would not have fumbled through most part of our married life!

Nevertheless, it is never too late! Ever since I started using Young Living Essential Oils, I’ve been trying different oils for different purposes. Yes, I started to use them to first help support immunity level of my 4 children. Then when my hubby became more used to the different scents and got into being used as a “guinea pig” whenever I need to practise the massage techniques that I have learnt, I began to explore more oils and supplements that support our overall well-being  as well.

With an improved health and vitality after adding essential oils and supplements from Young Living into our daily regime, I can’t help but notice that our activities between the sheets get more and more pleasurable and exciting, too! Haha, talk about discovering such great side effects of using essential oils! I became more intrigued and went to research more. So, what are the essential oils that I have been using? What about the supplements that I have mentioned earlier? Let me show you which oils I am using for myself first followed by the oils I apply on him before I touch on the supplements (pun not intended).

Firstly, Progessence Phyto Plus, or PPP for short, is highly recommended! It not only has made regular monthly visits by Aunt Flo a painless issue, my PMS seems to have subdued significantly. Even the usual tenderness on my breasts a few days before the period somehow became unnoticeable that I only realized its absence after sometime! Hence, hubby gets fewer rejections than before. (Hint: what a great gift for your wife! :D)

PPP is a serum made using a special blend of frankincense, peppermint and bergamot essential oils and progesterone from wild yam plus vitamin E. Simply apply one to two drops onto the inner arms and ankles twice a day. You can read more here.

Secondly, diffusing Joy sets me in the right mood for love and cuddles! It’s a blend of Geranium, Ylang Ylang, Jasmine and Rose essential oils! How not to feel feminine and attractive? In Indonesia,  petals of Ylang Ylang flowers are scattered on the bed of newly weds. This blend helps to increase libido and balance out the crazy hormones making me feel more calm and in control.

Thirdly, I like to put on either Transformation or Believe blend onto my diffuser necklace and declare over myself that I am attractive; I am blessed so I can bless others; I am beautiful because I am fearfully and wonderfully made by my Papa God; I have gifts that made me unique; etc. These declarations are powerful and the scent added simply evoke powerful stimulus into my limbic system! I believe this act of applying the oils and verbal declarations has been helping me to act upon the beliefs that I have over myself. With such confidence being built upon myself, I find myself to be in a position to give love rather than waiting to be loved. It also helps me to discard any sexual inhibition that I had previously. So BOOMZ! Our lovemaking has been so transformed!

One last oil that I highly recommend is Shutran! Oh my, the scent of this powerful blend drives my adrenaline really high and gets me all excited for the pleasures thinking about that big O! It’s certainly worth investing as a drop behind my earlobes and his is sufficient to get into the grooves!

Next are the oils for my hubby. He, being an active jogger, has complaints of muscles aches and pains. Long usage in front of a computer also has caused him much stiffness on his neck and shoulders. Well, most probably due to bad posture. So, I applied essential oils like Idaho Blue Spruce and Cypress with v6 oil or Ortho Sports oil and massaged onto his aching muscles. Little did I know that these two added extra boost to his testosterone level and better blood circulation to you-know-where!

Another oil that I have been religiously applying on his outer ankles is Mister after I read that it is good for his prostate health. This is certainly a must as I believe that prevention is better than cure! This blend was originally formulated to support healthy prostate function and balance male energy. Apparently, this has increased his libido gas tank and helped his soldier to stay firm longer!

What about the supplements? Yes, supplements are also critical as wanting to achieve orgasm requires an extra bit of physical energy besides being healthy. Hence, drinking Ningxia Red and taking Sulfurzyme regularly is a must for me. Hubby took a while to jump in the bandwagon, but has found himself with more energy even after midnight! He used to be totally drained off by 9pm.  What a drastic change!

We have been married close to 22 years and I can honestly say that our sex life has never been as satisfying as it is now. It is not so much an age issue but rather an overall health and wellness issue plus a greater level of trust and intimacy built over the years. Let me end off by sharing some oily potions that have added some “omph” in achieving that big O.

*Inner Thigh Potion for Her
20 drops of Joy
15 drops of Lime
10 drops of Cypress
25 drops of carrier oil

*Inner Thigh Potion for Him
20 drops of Idaho Blue Spruce
10 drops of Cypress
5 drops of Rosemay
5 drops of Nutmeg
25 drops of carrier oil

Put each potion into an empty 15ml roller bottle and massage over each other’s thighs and all the way up to the leg crease. Have a sensational rolling good time

*The potions are taken from the book, Lucy Libido.
